Bayelsa commissioner bags Integrity award

ODAHIEKWU OGUNDE, Yenagoa

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Akpoebidei Alamieyeseigha, has been conferred with an award and certificate of Integrity Stewardship in Service in his office in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The award was presented to him by the Centre for Peace and Self Value Re-Orientation, a non-governmental agency in Abuja.

He was awarded for promoting ethical leadership and awakening the spirit of serviceship among citizens of the country.

Receiving the award, Alamieyeseigha returned the glory to God for finding him worthy for the award and appreciated the Douye Diri-led government for giving him the platform to serve.

The Commissioner also commended his management staff for their dedication to work and unflinching support in running the affairs of the ministry and thanked the Center for Peace Agency for the award.

Giving the vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Aseimo Joseph, congratulated the commissioner for the award and prayed for more awards for him. 

He also prayed that God would grant the visiting team a safe trip back to their locations.

Earlier,  the Executive Director of Center for Peace and Self Value Re-Orientation, Comrade Oyibo Abubakar, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for accepting the award and for receiving the team in his office.

Oyibo commended the commissioner for his good virtues of humility, public accessibility, and ethical operational standards, adding that choosing the commissioner for the award was not a mistake.

He explained that the commissioner was chosen following his 90 per cent cumulative score in the agency’s independent assessment conducted on MDAs in South-South, Bayelsa recently with regard to developmental policy, servicom compliance and obedient to rule of law among others.

Oyibo said Alamieyeseigha is worthy of the title ”Service Ambassador”  and presentation of the ”Certificate of Integrity and Stewardship” owing to his virtues as an outstanding leader in service.

He pleaded for the Commissioner’s continuous partnership to jointly lead Nigerian youths to greatness.

Also, present on the occasion were Director Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Mr Toloko Sylvester, Director Budget, Mrs Peremoboere Soroh, Deputy Director Budget, Mrs Roland Sarah Oghe and Personal Assistant to Commissioner, Mr Simeon Ayogoi.
