Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Neche, has opened up about her experience on the reality television show, revealing that she became convinced she could win the grand prize as early as the second week of the competition.
The reality star also disclosed that the level of public support she received after leaving the house exceeded her expectations, saying the reaction from fans was significantly greater than she had anticipated.
Neche made the revelation during an interview with Pulse, where she reflected on her time in the Big Brother Naija house and the circumstances surrounding her decision to leave the competition.
According to her, although contestants generally enter the show hoping to win, she developed strong confidence in her chances shortly after the competition began.
“Honestly, at week two, I was convinced I could win the show, but, I mean, that was just every regular housemate’s conviction,” Neche said.
She explained that her perception changed after seeing the level of support she had attracted outside the house.
“I was surprised as to what I saw outside, mind you. It was like times ten of what I expected,” she said.
Neche said that while she eventually began considering the possibility of not winning the competition, she believed she had a strong chance of reaching the final.
“I thought to myself like, ‘I might not win, but I can get to the finals?’ So yeah, I think I would have won. Even now more so,” she added.
The former housemate also addressed her decision to leave the show, explaining that several personal circumstances influenced her choice.

She, however, declined to disclose specific details, saying they were private.
“I feel like there were personal circumstances and a lot of situation that led to my decision, the detail I would like to keep private at the same time I’m very confident scout my decision I’m at peace with it,” she said.
Asked whether she regretted walking away from the ₦160 million grand prize, Neche said she had no regrets about prioritising her personal wellbeing.
“Honestly, I don’t regret choosing myself above everything else because at the end of the day you are what matters,” she said.
Despite her decision, Neche admitted that the prize money was substantial and acknowledged that she had originally planned to remain in the house for a longer period.
“But ₦160 million was a lot of money. I had also envisioned myself staying in the house longer,” she added.
