Benue on Edge as Suspected Herdsmen Kill Political Leader

Residents of Tombo Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area, Benue State, are living in fear after a former councilor, Mr. Atindiga Tsebee, was shot dead in an ambush carried out by suspected armed herdsmen.

The attack happened over the weekend along the Ayilamo–Anyiin road, close to Tsukwa Village. Tsebee was said to be heading back from a security gathering held to review recent attacks and rising tension across nearby settlements.

Community sources explained that the assailants waited in hiding and targeted the vehicle conveying Tsebee and others.

According to one of them, “The vehicle belonged to another community leader, Zaki Terngu Iorhuna.

Efforts to reach the Benue State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, were unsuccessful at the time this report was compiled.
