Bernabéu Concert Ban Stands After Supreme Court Rejects Real Madrid’s Appeal

Real Madrid’s bid to overturn restrictions on concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium has suffered a setback after Spain’s Supreme Court reportedly rejected the club’s appeal, according to Diario AS.

The ruling means the case will now return to an administrative court, which will be responsible for making the next decision regarding the use of the iconic stadium for concert events.

Real Madrid had sought to challenge an earlier ruling that prevented concerts from being held at the renovated Bernabéu, a venue the club has increasingly looked to use for non-football events as part of efforts to maximize revenue from the multi-purpose facility.

The dispute has been linked to complaints from local residents over issues such as noise levels and disruptions caused by large-scale entertainment events at the stadium.

With the Supreme Court declining to overturn the previous decision, the legal battle remains unresolved. The Administrative Court will now review the matter and determine whether concerts can resume at the Bernabéu or if the restrictions will remain in place.

The development represents another obstacle for the Spanish giants as they continue efforts to expand the commercial use of the stadium beyond football matches and sporting events.
