Afrobeat star Tekno has been unveiled as the new brand ambassador for BetPawa, Africa’s leading iGaming platform, following the company’s ₦494 million sponsorship of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The announcement was made at an event in Lagos, where Tekno, known for hits like Pana and Skeletun, was officially introduced as the face of BetPawa.
Borah Omary Ndanyungu, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at BetPawa, said Tekno represents the brand’s values of energy, creativity, and innovation.
“His music inspires millions, just as football does,” Ndanyungu added, highlighting the synergy between sports and music in engaging Nigeria’s youth.
The ₦494 million NNL sponsorship is part of BetPawa’s Locker Room Bonus initiative, which provides ₦56,000 in direct mobile-money payments to 20 players and three technical staff from each winning NNL team per match.

With 292 games scheduled this season, over ₦369 million will be distributed directly to players and staff. An additional ₦100 million has been allocated to support league operations, while ₦8.1 million will fund end-of-season awards.
BetPawa’s partnership with Tekno is part of a broader strategy to merge sport, music, and culture, supporting players on the field while engaging fans off it.
The collaboration coincides with the NNL’s November kickoff and Tekno’s upcoming music releases, signaling a high-profile alliance set to energize Nigeria’s sports and entertainment scene.
