The Borno State House of Assembly is mourning the loss of Nuhu Clark, the Member-Elect for Chibok Constituency, who passed away on Tuesday evening in an Indian hospital. Clark had been battling an illness and his younger sister, Ladi Clark, confirmed his death.
Before his foray into politics, Clark had served as the Chairman of the Chibok Local Government Area under the regime of Senator Ali Modu Sherrif. He also held the position of Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation in the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum until he resigned to contest in the 2023 Governorship and State Assemblies’ elections.
Clark contested the election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after polling 8,076 votes. His death is a great loss to the people of Chibok Constituency, who had entrusted him with the responsibility of representing them in the state assembly.
The late Nuhu Clark was known for his dedication to public service and his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents. His passing is a reminder of the fragility of life and the need to appreciate those who serve us selflessly. The Borno State House of Assembly has expressed its condolences to his family and friends, and to the people of Chibok Constituency. Clark’s legacy will not be forgotten, and his contributions to the development of the state will be remembered for years to come.
