Former Governor Bello arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Abuja on Monday morning, driving himself in a black Hilux, accompanied by his legal team.
This marks a significant moment in his ongoing legal battles as the EFCC prepares to present fresh charges against him.
Bello’s voluntary presence at the EFCC office comes after the Commission had requested a delay in proceedings during the last hearing on November 14.
The EFCC had cited the 30-day window still open for a summons to be served on the former governor in relation to the new case it had initiated against him.
The legal team representing Bello has indicated their readiness to address the case as it progresses.
The EFCC had initially sought an adjournment of the hearing to November 27, giving both parties time to prepare for the fresh allegations.
The case is expected to unfold over the coming weeks, with further details likely to emerge as the legal proceedings continue.
