Gunmen have invaded a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Uso, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, abducting six worshippers during an early-morning service.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, throwing the quiet community into panic.
First Daily correspondent learnt that the assailants stormed the church premises while congregants were gathered for worship and whisked away six members to an unknown destination.
The incident comes barely four days after suspected kidnappers abducted a couple at Ilu-Abo community in Akure North Local Government Area, heightening fears among residents over the deteriorating security situation in the state.
Residents of Uso and surrounding communities have expressed concern over the increasing frequency of attacks, particularly in rural areas.

Many are calling on security agencies to intensify patrols and improve intelligence gathering to stem the tide of kidnappings and armed assaults.
