President Bola Tinubu and the organized labor unions have reached an agreement to raise the minimum wage for Nigerian workers to N70,000.
This decision was announced by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing at the State House following a meeting between labor union members and government officials.
Idris stated, “The President has shown his commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers by approving a new minimum wage of N70,000. This is a significant step towards addressing the economic challenges faced by workers across the country.”
Furthermore, Idris disclosed that President Tinubu assured that Nigeria would increase its compliance with compressed natural gas (CNG) to reduce the nation’s reliance on fossil fuel energy.
“The President is committed to diversifying our energy sources and ensuring that Nigeria becomes more CNG-compliant,” Idris added.
