A clip capturing a startling moment between French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, is making the rounds online and the internet is buzzing.
The now-viral video shows Brigitte appearing to strike Macron in the face.
Reports say it happened aboard the presidential aircraft, just minutes before landing in Vietnam. Macron was set to begin his Southeast Asia diplomatic tour.
In the clip, Macron chats with Brigitte near the plane’s door. Out of nowhere, she seems to reach forward and hit him across the mouth.
Macron flinches, visibly stunned, but quickly recovers and flashes a wave at the press crew waiting below.
As they exit the plane, Macron offers Brigitte his arm. She refuses and steadies herself with the stair railing instead.
Initially, the presidential team brushed off the clip, calling it fake. But after mounting pressure, they confirmed it happened, describing the exchange as “a little fun” between the couple.

“It was a moment of togetherness. No more is needed to fuel the conspiracy theorists,” said a source close to them.
The video has fueled both curiosity and concern.
Their relationship has often been under a microscope.
Brigitte, 25 years older than Macron, was once his drama teacher. Their story, while unconventional, has drawn both praise and criticism.
Government insiders are trying to downplay the moment, but critics say it raises new questions about their public dynamic.
