The Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Okon Akwa, was removed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.
This was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
According to the statement, the removal came following the conclusion of his engagement with the commission.
Akwa was appointed acting administrator of the commission for the duration of the forensic audit into the operations of the NDDC.
Meanwhile, the president has approved a new Management Team and Governing Board of the NDDC constitution.
The names of the nominees for the new management team and Governing Board are to be transmitted to the National Assembly for approval.
