Nearly six years after the death of Hollywood actor Chadwick Boseman, the late Black Panther star’s brothers have petitioned a Los Angeles court to remove his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, as administrator of his estate, alleging a failure to distribute assets and a lack of transparency in the estate’s management.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Kevin and Derrick Boseman asked the court to appoint forensic accountant Jason Rubin as the new administrator, accusing Ledward of maintaining exclusive control over the estate without involving the actor’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, whom they claim are entitled to 25 per cent of the estate.
The petition alleges that despite a 2022 court order directing Ledward to distribute estate assets, including a $40,000 long-term care insurance policy to Carolyn Boseman, the funds have not been released.
The brothers further claimed that the estate includes royalties, SAG-AFTRA residual payments, image and intellectual property rights, real estate, a previously undisclosed bank account and other personal property that have yet to be fully accounted for.
According to the filing, Ledward’s continued management of the estate has lacked transparency and created the impression that assets may be concealed from both the Boseman family and the court.

They also alleged that Chadwick Boseman’s bank account and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) remain open and that residual payments dating back to 2020 have not been properly disclosed.
The petition further claimed that Ledward has retained sole control over the late actor’s image and intellectual property rights, allowing her to continue managing and benefiting from the commercial use of his legacy.
Chadwick Boseman died in August 2020 at the age of 43 following a private four-year battle with colon cancer. The award-winning actor died without leaving a will, just six days after marrying Ledward.
As of the time of filing this report, Taylor Simone Ledward had not publicly responded to the allegations contained in the court filing.
