Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has firmly denied rumours suggesting he and four other governors are plotting to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Sunday, April 27, dismissed the speculation as “ridiculously malicious,” describing those behind it as “uninteresting political comedians.”
Responding to claims circulating on social media linking him to a coalition allegedly led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the governor made his loyalty clear.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my formidable and reliable party for any coalition, no matter who the architects are,” Idris said.

Popularly known as Kauran Gwandu, Idris reiterated his commitment to the people of Kebbi State and to President Bola Tinubu’s vision. He stressed that his focus remains on delivering good governance and building on the achievements of the APC.
“If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing,” he declared.
The statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, emphasised that Kebbi State remains a stronghold of the APC and described the defection rumours as nothing more than a “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”
Governor Idris concluded by reassuring the people of Kebbi that he remains committed to their welfare and to the continued progress of the state under the APC’s leadership.
