A combined team of Amotekun Corps, local vigilance groups and the police in Ogun has killed a suspected serial killer, Feyisola Dosumu, aka Spartan.
The combined team of security agents gunned down the wanted serial killer during a manhunt.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the development.
“The police had tried to catch him yesterday (Monday), but he escaped. We cannot allow him to continue to kill people. We are going to parade his corpse later today,” the PPRO said.
The suspected serial killer, Dosumu, was accused of killing many residents in Ogere and Iperu towns in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
His latest victim was the Vice Chairman of the Oluwatedo Community Development Association, Elder Oladeji Olatunji. He was said to have hacked the community leader to death last Friday.
The serial killer, who was an indigene of Ogere, was also accused of raping and killing a nursing mother. The incident prompted a visit from the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, in July 2020.
The suspect said to be a notorious cultist and drug addict was a graduate of a polytechnic in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He was said to have been admitted to the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, for treatment after he developed a mental problem.
He was said to have, however, escaped back to Ogere, where he killed people while remaining elusive until Tuesday when he met his waterloo.
