Nigerian quartet of Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha have won the gold medal in the 4×100m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The quartet ran a new African Record of 42.10s to win gold ahead of England team which claimed a silver medal and Jamaica which finished third to win a bronze medal.
This is the first time that the Nigeria women’s relay team will be winning gold in the 4×100m since 1994.
In the men’s final of the 4X100M, a quartet of Udodi Onwuzuruike, Favour Ashe, Alaba Akintola, and Raymond Ekevwo got round the baton in a time of 38.81s to clinch the bronze medal. England won the gold medal while Trinidad & Tobago took silver.
Another history was made as this is also the first Commonwealth Games finals since 1990 in Auckland, where Nigeria had two teams winning medals in the 4x100m.
