Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, says the House Committee on Constitution Review will pursue electoral, judicial, local government and other reforms vigorously during the exercise.
Wase disclosed this, on Monday, in Abuja, while speaking at a retreat for members of the House of Representatives’ special committee on the review of the 1999 Constitution.
He said the committee would also address agitations on increased women participation in national affairs and politics.
The deputy speaker, therefore, called for the creation of a special constituency for women as part of the on-going constitution review process.
According to him, other key issues to be at the front burner of the constitution review process included state creation, roles for traditional institutions, among others.
