Managers of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel, were on Monday charged with breach of FA Rule E3 by the English Football Association over their face-off in Sunday’s 2-2 draw.

Part of the statement by the FA read: “It is alleged that the behaviour of both managers was improper following the end of the fixture.

“Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have until Thursday 18 August 2022 to provide their respective responses.”

Both coaches were separated on more than one occasion as Conte protested the referee and VAR decision over a goal by Richarlison, who appeared to have blocked goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy’s view.

Conte and Tuchel were both sent off after the final whistle after they had an altercation again when both parties went for a handshake.
