Court discharges OPC members arrested over attack on Fulani kingpin, Wakili

SOJI AJIBOLA, Ibadan

An Ibadan Magistrate Court has discharged and acquitted three members of the Oodua Peoples Congress arrested in connection with alleged roles in the attacks on the suspected Fulani kingpin, Isikilu Wakili in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The affected OPC members are Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan.

The trio, who initially had been granted bail on health grounds but have now been released unconditionally, were detained at Agodi Correctional Centre.

Confirming their release to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade said they were released around I0:00am following the ruling of the court.

They arrived at the Agodi Correctional Centre at about 1:00pm and were later led to the office of the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Olumo.
