Bauchi State High Court No.10 has struck out the suite filed against the State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for lack of jurisdiction and awarded cost of N100,000 against the planitiff.

The state correspondent of Voice of America (VOA ) Abdulwahab Muhammed and three others filed the case challenging decision of the recent congress attended by over 60 registered members of the Union.

The complainers were also seeking for interpretation of some sections in NUJ Constitution in relation to the case.

However, counsel to the defendants Barrister Rilwanu A. Jibrin argued that the state court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the case, noting that National Industrial Court is the appropriate court to entertain the issue.

Delivering the judgement on the argument, Justice Muktar Abubakar affirmed the submissions of the defendants and dismissed the case for lack of merit.
