Court grants 49 Yoruba nation agitators bail

Forty-nine Yoruba nation agitators arrested in Lagos have been granted bail by a Magistrate Court in the state.

They were granted N300, 000 bail with two sureties each on Monday.

One of the sureties, the court said,  must be a family member, and the other a community leader or clergy with proof of tax payment.

This was confirmed by a statement by the Communications Manager of Yoruba Self-Determination Group, Ilana Omo Oodua, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye.

Two human rights lawyers, Olasupo Ojo and Oladapo Kayode, filed the motion for their bail application.

The names of the agitators include: “Olasunkanmi Tanimola; Kabiru Lawanson; Chinemerem Emmanuel; Rasaki Musibau; Lukman Olalade; Olasanmi Oladipupo; Bashiru Shittu; Taofeek Abdusalam; Olamilekan Abata; Abdullahi Sikiru; Tosin Adeleye; Babatunde Lawal.

Kareem, Adebayo Waheed, Abiodun Taiwo, Adagunodo Babatunde, Oluwafemi Adeleye, Oloye Taiwo, Saheed Akinbode Sunday, Lawal Akeem, Samuel Ire, Tajudeen Bakare, Ogundile Dare, Oba.”
