Court Jails Man One Month for Internet Fraud in Lagos

Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Wednesday, convicted and sentenced one Abraham Joseph Peter to one month imprisonment for internet fraud.

The anti-graft agency made this known in a statement shared on its Facebook page on Thursday.

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested on July 7 at the Cruizer Hotel, Ajegunle, Lagos, in a sting operation by operatives of the EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2.

The EFCC noted that Peter was arrested following an intelligence report received by the Commission about the activities of some individuals allegedly involved in internet fraud at the hotel.

He was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on cybercrime.
