CP orders security beef up in Lagos over MC Oluomo’s suspension

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed beef up of security across the state to curtail any form of violence that may arise over the indefinite suspension of the Lagos State chapter Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo.

Alabi said that he had directed all area commanders and divisional police officers to also maintain visibility in their area of coverage.

Oluomo was suspended by NURTW over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and inciting members of the state chapter against the national body.

The body asked him to hand over power to his deputy chairman and to release all property belonging to the body in his possession to the state secretary immediately.

The Lagos State CP who spoke during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday, said a directive had been given on the deployment and patrol of all motor parks across the state.

He asked residents to go about their activities without fear, assuring them of adequate security of life and property.
