A former commissioner for information in Cross River State, Mr Edet Okon Asim, has reportedly slumped inside his car and died.
Asim was also Governor Ben Ayade’s special adviser on biodiversity.
He was accused last year of raping a maid and case is still in court.
Family sources and colleagues in government disclosed that Asim died in his car around Eta Agbo neighbourhood in Calabar on Tuesday night.
His corpse has been deposited in mortuary.
