Popular Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chiefpriest has publicly admitted that he made what he described as a “foolish” mistake by not supporting Bola Tinubu during Nigeria’s last general election.
Chiefpriest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, made the statement on Saturday while speaking at the South-East leg of the Cityboy Movement tour held in Imo State.
Addressing a crowd at the event, the businessman acknowledged that he had not supported the president during the 2023 elections, describing his earlier stance as a misjudgment.
“At the past election, I did not support you. I had to be an Igbo boy. I had to do some careless mistakes,” he said while directing his remarks to Seyi Tinubu, who was present at the gathering.
The outspoken socialite said he had since reconsidered his political position and pledged his loyalty to the current administration, stating that he and his associates would no longer “waste their votes.”
“They say first fool don’t be fool, and second fool be proper fool. Politics is a game. It’s a game that you would love to win.
We don’t want to lose a game and we will never waste our votes again,” he told the audience, drawing applause from supporters.

Chiefpriest also revealed that Seyi Tinubu recently facilitated a visit for him to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, where he met the president. According to him, the encounter sent a strong signal to critics and rivals.
“In my life, you have made a very bold statement by taking me to the villa to meet your father, the president of this country. As my enemies see that picture, they run away,” he said.
During the event, he further announced what he described as a partnership between the Cityboy Movement and the federal government, urging authorities to reciprocate the support being expressed in the South-East.
“We are not ready to fight. We’ve tried fighting and it didn’t work for us. The best we can do is partnership,” he said.
The socialite also commended Hope Uzodimma, attributing recent development projects in the state to the governor’s close relationship with the federal government.
“Governor Hope Uzodimma has done all these marvellous things for us in Imo because he was able to partner with the government at the centre,” he said.
His remarks come amid growing political conversations in the South-East about engagement with the federal government and the region’s role in Nigeria’s national political landscape.
