Following the sudden resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, former Governor of Kano State, from his position as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, has stepped into the role of Acting National Chairman and is presiding over his first official National Working Committee (NWC) meeting.
The gathering, which began Monday morning at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, brings together top party figures to deliberate on emerging issues within the party and chart a forward path amid growing internal and external pressures.
Among those present are National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, and other key members of the committee.
The meeting is expected to address the power vacuum created by Ganduje’s exit and may redefine leadership roles ahead of upcoming elections.
Insiders suggest the agenda also includes an assessment of party discipline, reconciliation efforts in some state chapters, and preparations for national conventions.

Dalori, a long-serving party stalwart from Borno State, is seen by many as a stabilizing figure.
However, his ability to navigate the complex political terrain of the APC at the national level will be tested in the coming weeks.
The APC has yet to issue an official statement on the long-term leadership structure or whether a new chairman will be elected soon.
Details on resolutions from the meeting are expected to be released shortly.
