Daniel Regha Schools Hilda Baci on How to Clean a Jollof Rice Pot

Social media commentator Daniel Regha has faulted celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s method of washing a jollof rice pot, after a video showed her cleaning it with a mop stick.

Reacting in a post on his X account, Regha argued that the practice was improper and unnecessary, insisting that traditional cleaning methods were more hygienic.

“The best way to clean that pot was to wash it, rinse, scoop up the water with a flat bowl or plate, then heat up the pot so the rest can dry out. Just like everyone does at home. Not using a mobbing stick, sorry,” he wrote.

His criticism has since drawn mixed reactions, with some users agreeing with his view while others defended Baci, pointing out that large pots used for mass cooking often require unconventional cleaning methods.

The debate has trended on social media, adding to the frequent discussions around Baci’s culinary activities and Regha’s reputation for blunt online commentary.
