Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has apologised to fans after failing to appear at a scheduled Lagos performance, attributing his absence to challenges in securing aviation fuel.
The artiste, whose real name is David Adeleke, was billed to perform alongside Zlatan Ibile at the Secret Place club in Ikate Elegushi on Sunday, as part of its fifth anniversary celebration.
However, he was absent from the event, which sparked disappointment among attendees.
In a message shared via his Instagram story on Monday, Davido explained that unexpected logistical issues disrupted his travel arrangements.
“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he said.

He apologised to fans who came out for the show and assured them of a future performance.
“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he added.
The incident comes amid ongoing global concerns over fuel supply disruptions affecting the aviation sector, with shortages and rising costs impacting flight operations in several regions.
Davido also congratulated the event organisers and reaffirmed his support, while promising to make it up to fans at a later date.
