The Principal of Daywaterman College, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Ahmed Kamal, has announced plans to enroll 150 new students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Speaking with journalists over the weekend, Kamal emphasized that the college’s state-of-the-art facilities would provide an excellent learning experience for the incoming students.
As the institution’s first Black principal, Kamal highlighted his commitment to expanding access to quality education by offering scholarships to academically outstanding students from low-income backgrounds.
He explained that the additional enrollment would bring the student population to 450, further strengthening the school’s reputation for academic excellence.
“With our top-tier science laboratory, library, music and IT departments, hostels, swimming pool, dining hall, and medical facilities, students will enjoy a world-class learning and living environment,” Kamal stated.

He reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing quality education, noting that Daywaterman College continuously invests in infrastructure, curriculum development, and extracurricular activities to enhance students’ learning experiences.
“Our goal for the 2025/2026 academic session is to admit 150 additional students to join the existing 300 and benefit from our outstanding facilities,” he said.
He also stressed the college’s role in bridging educational gaps beyond government efforts.
“We offer scholarships to children from low-income families because we believe private schools should provide alternative access to quality education. While premium education doesn’t always come cheap, we recognize that some talented Nigerian students may not afford our fees. Through our scholarship program, we give them the opportunity to study here,” Kamal added.
