Police in the Federal Capital Territory recovered the decomposed bodies of a woman and her two children inside a locked shop after neighbours raised the alarm over a foul odour, police sources said.
The discovery was made at a shop on Tudun Wada Street in Abaji Area Council, the sources said.
Detectives from the Abaji division, officials of the Area Council’s Environment Department and personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps were deployed to the scene after a concerned citizen reported the smell.
According to the account, the shop, secured from the inside was forcibly opened with the help of neighbours.

Officers found the remains of Ann Patrick Okorie, 44, and her children; Christiana, 13, and Ebube, 9, all natives of Amechi Ohaozara Local Government Area in Ebonyi State.
The bodies were evacuated to Abaji General Hospital, where a medical doctor certified them dead before the remains were deposited at the hospital morgue, the sources said.
Police said investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Residents with information about the case have been urged to contact the Abaji Police Division as detectives continue enquiries.
