Defence Minister: Troops Inflict Major Losses On Terrorists

Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa, rtd, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to safeguarding the nation.

He noted that terrorists are suffering greater losses than government forces during ongoing operations across Nigeria.

Earlier reports indicated that Musa met with the service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, the 11th of March, 2026.

After the meeting, Musa said, “Our troops are working tirelessly to protect Nigerians. While we have had some casualties, the terrorists are taking the bigger hit.”

The minister cautioned against the circulation of false information on social media, stressing that such narratives could weaken security efforts.

He encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities.

“This is a challenge for all Nigerians, not just the Armed Forces,” he added.

Musa warned that individuals providing support, logistics, or intelligence to terrorists would face the same consequences as the insurgents themselves.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and state governors for their support and conveyed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its security challenges.
