Democracy Day: Tinubu to Address Nigerians at 7am Thursday

President Bola Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, in commemoration of Nigeria’s 2025 Democracy Day celebration.

This was disclosed by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day in a statement signed by Abdulhakeem Adeoye on Wednesday in Abuja.

The President is also expected to address a joint session of the National Assembly later in the day, as part of activities marking the country’s return to democratic rule.

Unlike previous years, there will be no Democracy Day parade this year, the committee revealed.

However, a public lecture to commemorate the day will hold at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja by 4:00 p.m.

All radio and television stations are directed to link up with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to broadcast the President’s address live.

Tinubu’s message is expected to reflect on the state of the nation’s democracy, ongoing reforms, and the path forward as his administration faces mounting economic and political challenges in its second year.
