Lagos State lawmaker and actor, Desmond Elliot, has renewed his apology to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over his conduct during the last All Progressives Congress primary election.
Elliot made the fresh appeal during a meeting with Gbajabiamila and other APC chieftains, where he went down on his knees and prostrated before the former Speaker of the House of Representatives in a bid to mend relations with the party’s Lagos leadership.
In a video shared by Lagos Junction on X on Sunday, Elliot admitted that he may have been misled in his actions during the primary and expressed remorse over the situation.
“I’m sorry. I have no excuse; I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry. I’m deeply sorry, sir. And in our culture, we prostrate. Don’t be angry, Daddy.”
Gbajabiamila subsequently asked Elliot to get up.
The lawmaker, who represents Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, also pledged to recommit himself to the party’s leadership.

Elliot had previously apologised to Gbajabiamila during an appearance on TVC’s Your View, where he acknowledged that his political activities might have offended his political mentor.
He maintained that any disagreement between them was not deliberate and reaffirmed his commitment to the unity of the APC and the development of his constituency.
“I’m not saying, oh, yes, media will come out, oh yes, Desmond begs again. Yes, because he’s my egbon. And I grew up learning everything I knew in politics through him,” he said.
He added, “To err is human, to forgive is divine. So I’m sorry, my daddy, if I’ve offended you in any way.”
The latest apology follows tensions linked to the leadership crisis that rocked the Lagos State House of Assembly, during which Gbajabiamila said he encountered difficulties at the Presidency over allegations concerning Elliot’s political activities.
Gbajabiamila had disclosed that President Bola Tinubu confronted him over intelligence reports alleging Elliot was involved in efforts connected to the Assembly speakership dispute. Elliot denied the allegation at the time.
The APC leadership crisis, which stemmed from disagreements over the Assembly’s leadership, was eventually brought to an end after interventions by senior party leaders.
