German Bundesliga club Borrusia Dortmund have targeted Nigeria-eligible youngster Nonso Madueke to replace Manchester United-bound winger Jadon Sancho, according to various reports in the German press.
Regional daily newspaper based in Dortmund, Ruhr Nachrichten is reporting that Madueke, a member of the Young Lions squad to the U21 EURO, is a candidate to replace Sancho and would cost in the region of fifteen million euros.
Predominantly an inverted winger, the left-footed Anglo-Nigerian can also be deployed as a center forward and left winger.
He enjoyed a breakout season at PSV Eindhoven, contributing nine goals and eight assists in 32 appearances across all competitions in 2020-2021.
Manchester United have already agreed personal terms with Sancho’s Nigerian agent, Emeka Obasi and have been told by Dortmund to meet their asking price of ninety million euros plus add-ons for the deal to go through.
Madueke, who is on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation with a view to a call-up to the Super Eagles, had stops at the youth teams of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur prior to his switch to PSV in the summer of 2018.
The 19-year-old has a contract with the Eredivisie giants until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
