The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has once again detained Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, the contentious social media figure and crossdresser, at Lagos’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
This latest apprehension comes just days after the Nigerian police granted him bail.
The incident unfolded on Thursday evening as Bobrisky prepared to depart on a flight to London.
According to witnesses, authorities intervened just before takeoff, escorting him off the plane in the presence of fellow passengers.
Following the incident, Bobrisky addressed his followers on Instagram, posting, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
Recall that Just last week, he had been detained by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border amid accusations of attempting to flee the country.
Bobrisky has been the subject of an ongoing investigation following the leak of an audio recording where he allegedly claimed he was allowed to serve his six-month jail sentence outside Kirikiri prison, citing “influential connections.”
