Easter Break: FG Declares Friday, Monday as Public Holidays

The Federal Government has officially announced Friday, the 18th , and Monday, 21st of April, as public holidays in observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

This announcement came from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on the 15th of April, 2025, in Abuja.

On behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across the nation, celebrating the significance of this sacred occasion. Tunji-Ojo underscored the profound importance of embracing the selflessness and love exemplified by Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself for mankind’s redemption.

He called on Nigerians to take advantage of the holiday period to reflect, pray, and focus on the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

Highlighting the administration’s vision, Tunji-Ojo reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, a plan aimed at fostering national growth and development.

The Minister also encouraged Nigerians to practice kindness, goodwill, and generosity toward one another, reinforcing the spirit of love this Easter.

He concluded by wishing all Christians a joyful Easter celebration and extending warm holiday greetings to the entire country.
