The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal adjourned to Monday, February 10, for Governor Monday Okphebholo to open his case.

This decision came after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to present its witnesses, as scheduled, on Thursday, February 6.

INEC’s lead counsel, Kanu Agabi, SAN, informed the three-member panel led by Justice Wilfred Okpochi that the commission would no longer call witnesses, following a review of the case after Wednesday’s proceedings.

“The need to call witnesses will not arise,” Agabi stated.
