Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in Rivers State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, love, and unity associated with the celebration.
In a statement released on Tuesday through his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor described Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, as a period for reflection on compassion, generosity, and peaceful coexistence among people of different religious backgrounds.
Fubara also commended the Muslim community for its role in promoting peace, economic development, and social stability in Rivers State.
According to the governor, the celebration presents an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to strengthen their commitment to harmony, mutual understanding, and national progress.

He stressed that religious diversity should serve as a unifying factor rather than a source of conflict.
The statement partly reads, “As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst.
Let the spirit of sacrifice that defines this festival inspire us to give more, forgive more, and love more.
“On this sacred occasion, I pray that Almighty Allah accepts your sacrifices, forgives your shortcomings, and grants you and your families peace, good health, and abundant blessings.
“May the lessons of Eid-el Kabir guide us all as we work to make Rivers State and Nigeria a place of justice, prosperity, and unity for every citizen.”
