Eid-El-Kabir: Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo must live together in peace —Shettima

President-General of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Shettima Yerima, on Tuesday implored Nigerians to live in peace and unity as the Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The youth leader, who spoke with our correspondent, said Nigerians need to be united more than ever now to overcome various challenges facing the country.

According to him, “There is no doubt that the unity of this country is being threatened. We are faced with lots of challenges starting from insecurity and others. But we must remain united and committed to nationhood. Though some of us have begun to doubt if the country would remain together again, definitely Nigeria will come out of these challenges stronger. I want Nigerians to remain hopeful as we celebrate Sallah.

“We must learn to accommodate one another. Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo are meant to live together in unity because we cannot do it separately. This country is meant for us together and together we will make it great.”

Shettima, however, wished all the Muslim brothers and sisters well during the celebration, urging them to pray for the peace of the country, saying the country needs prayer of every true citizen now more than ever.
