The eight-year-old girl died in the crash, while responders secured the area and remained there until it was declared safe. The team withdrew at about 5:45pm.
The accident adds to a string of serious crashes on the wider Enugu-Onitsha corridor this year. On September 3, five people died and 18 others were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash involving a trailer, commercial bus and car at the Ugwu Onyeama axis of the expressway in Enugu State.
The Anambra State Fire Service urged motorists to exercise caution, avoid excessive speed and remain vigilant, particularly when carrying passengers.
