Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has hinted that certain authorities are uneasy about his return to the country.
He also stated that efforts aimed at removing the present administration have only just started.
El-Rufai made the remarks during an interview with BBC Hausa, monitored on Friday, the 13th of February, 2026.
“You know, when that government came, I was among the few people who came out and told her we would oppose it and remove it. There was nothing I did not say.
“If they had anything against me like they claim to have against others, the matter would have long been settled.

But even if you want to accuse me, make sure you prove the accusation. I am waiting; whoever invites me, I will go,” he said.
The former governor explained that his differences with the current leadership stem from disagreements over policy direction and objectives.
However, he clarified that his relationship with President Bola Tinubu is not driven by personal animosity.
