Former Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga was the hero on Tuesday night as he scored the only goal of the match, leading Nottingham Forest to a 1-0 victory over his former club.
The win not only handed Forest all three points but also further boosted their hopes of securing a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
Elanga, who joined Forest after leaving United, made an immediate impact in the 5th minute.
He picked up the ball on a fast counter-attack, dodging United defenders with a brilliant solo run before slotting it past the goalkeeper to give Forest an early 1-0 lead.
Despite United’s relentless pressure throughout the match, they were unable to break down Forest’s defense or find the equalizer.

The visitors came close on several occasions but ultimately failed to convert their chances.
As the final whistle blew, it was a massive result for Forest, who now find themselves in a stronger position to qualify for the Champions League, with Elanga’s early strike proving to be the difference on a memorable night at the City Ground.
