The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has congratulated three legal practitioners from the Ilorin Emirate following their elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The monarch described the honour as recognition of the lawyers’ dedication, hard work and professionalism within the legal profession.
His message was conveyed in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona.
The recognition follows the recent announcement by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), which approved a new list of legal practitioners for elevation to the rank of SAN.
The distinction, regarded as the highest professional honour for advocates in Nigeria, is awarded to lawyers who have made exceptional contributions to legal practice and the administration of justice.
According to the statement, the 2026 SAN-designates from the Ilorin Emirate are the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Sulyman Ibrahim; Barr. Mas’ud Alabelewe; and Barr. Mohammed Adelodun.
Sulu-Gambari said the elevation reflected the professional excellence and dedication of the beneficiaries to the legal profession.
He noted, “The rank of SAN is the highest mark of professional excellence conferred on legal practitioners who have distinguished themselves as advocates in the courts.”
The Emir encouraged the newly elevated Senior Advocates to continue upholding the ethics, integrity and standards of the legal profession while inspiring younger members of the Bar.
“On behalf of the Ilorin Emirate and the entire people of Kwara State, I rejoice with these legal luminaries on this well-deserved elevation. May Almighty Allah grant them more wisdom to continue contributing to justice delivery and national development,” the monarch said.mmmmmmmm
He also praised the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee for recognising excellence and considering the sons of the Ilorin Emirate worthy of the prestigious honour.
The Emir further prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Senior Advocates guidance, protection and success in their new status for the benefit of the nation and humanity at large.
