Empowerment of ex-agitators non-negotiable, says PAP

The management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) says it is committed to ensuring the verifiable empowerment of the ex-agitators’ community in all ramifications.

A statement personally signed by PAP Interim Administrator, Col Milland Dixon Dikio (retd.), on Thursday, in Abuja stated that the management of the PAP would not allow anything or anyone distract it from the task at hand.

The statement partly read, “The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) is committed to ensuring the verifiable empowerment of the ex-agitators’ community in all ramifications to fulfil the mandate and purpose of the programme.’’

Colonel Dikio said that the focus was to ensure the achievement of this goal by prioritizing the Train, Employ and Mentor scheme (TEM), formation of Cooperatives and Business clusters, Vocational and Allied training programmes.

He further said the listed activities were targeted at achieving food security and full participation in the Blue Economy.

The PAP statement asked the general public to respect these priorities and urged detractors to seek patronage elsewhere, as no blackmail or any form of detraction would deter the management of the PAP from achieving and fulfilling its mandate.
