There was heavy presence of police officers at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos, on Friday, for the third anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

A memorial walk was organised to commemorate the tollgate shooting during the nationwide #EndSARS protests of 2020.

On October 20, 2020, security operatives reportedly fired live rounds into a crowd of unarmed young persons who had converged on the tollgate to protest decades of police brutality.

The death toll from the incident remains a subject of controversy, three years after the incident.

On Friday, a large team of police officers attached to the Lagos police command were at the Lekki tollgate to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
