EPL Matchday 6: Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool Suffer Shock Defeats

Matchday 6 of the English Premier League produced major upsets as Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool all suffered defeats in dramatic fashion.

At the Gtech Community Stadium, Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United endured a disappointing outing against Brentford. The Bees struck early through Thiago I., who netted twice in the 8th and 20th minutes to give the hosts control.

United responded when Benjamin Šeško opened his Premier League account in the 26th minute to reduce the deficit.

The visitors had a golden chance to equalize, but Bruno Fernandes failed to convert from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute.

Brentford then sealed the contest deep into stoppage time as M. Jensen slotted home in the 95th minute, condemning United to a 3–1 defeat.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea looked on course for victory after Enzo Fernández fired them ahead in the 24th minute.

However, their hopes unraveled when Trevoh Chalobah was shown a red card in the 53rd minute.

Brighton capitalized on the numerical advantage, with Danny Welbeck levelling in the 77th minute. Substitute M. De Cuypier then turned the game around in the 92nd minute before Welbeck completed his brace in the 100th minute, sealing a 3–1 win for the Seagulls.

Liverpool’s unbeaten run also came to a halt at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace stunned the Reds early when Ssrr I. struck in the 9th minute.

Substitute Chesa restored parity in the 87th minute after coming on in the 77th, raising hopes of a comeback.

But Palace had the last word as Nketiah E. found the net in the 97th minute to secure a dramatic 2–1 victory and hand Jürgen Klopp’s side their first defeat of the season.

The shock results leave fans buzzing as the Premier League title race heats up with more twists and turns expected in the weeks ahead.
