Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has stirred reactions on social media after sharing a video encouraging Nigerians to embrace small-scale businesses rather than relying on constant financial assistance.
The actress, who posted the video on her Instagram page on Saturday, advised people to channel their energy into productive ventures, saying small businesses could become the foundation for long-term financial success.
In the video, Anunobi mocked the now-popular phrase, “urgent ₦2k,” urging Nigerians instead to consider starting modest businesses such as frying akara, roasting corn or producing kulikuli.
According to her, consistent effort and hard work could transform such ventures into thriving enterprises.

“Every time you’ll be asking for urgent ₦2k. Haven’t you heard you can start a small-scale business like akara and roasted corn? How else will you become a billionaire?” she said.
The actress added jokingly that with dedication, one could eventually become the “Chairlady of Alakara” before growing into a millionaire or billionaire.
She also stressed that God blesses the work of people’s hands, encouraging Nigerians to embrace entrepreneurship rather than depending on handouts.
Anunobi concluded the video by urging people to stop “snoozing” and begin building businesses, describing entrepreneurship as a pathway to financial independence and wealth creation.
The video has generated widespread reactions online, with some social media users interpreting it as a subtle response to recent public conversations surrounding comments attributed to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on self-reliance and small businesses.
However, Anunobi did not mention or identify any individual in the video.
