Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, famously known as Asake, has found himself at the center of an emotional storm after a viral video surfaced featuring an elderly man who claims to be his father, accusing him of neglect.
The man, identified as Fatai Odunsi, made a tearful plea for financial assistance, revealing that he has been battling the effects of a stroke.
In the video, he alleged that his last encounter with Asake was in March 2022, around the time his health began to decline.
Reaching out to Nigerians for support, Odunsi said, “Good day everyone, I’m the one that gave birth to Ahmed Asake the singer. The last time I set my eyes on him was March 2022 when my sickness started. If I called Asake, he won’t pick. Please help me, it is your help that I need.”

As the video gained traction online, Asake seemingly addressed the claims in a cryptic response through music. In what appeared to be a subtle reaction, the singer, who has reportedly parted ways with Olamide’s YBNL record label, suggested that his alleged father was attempting to manipulate him despite his past generosity.
Singing in Yoruba, he expressed, “You can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God and always remember the day you’ll die and meet your God. My people, can you see? Even my father wants to cajole me. I used to press money for him and I do it with one mind. No one can quench my fire. God is the one that is taking me ahead in life.”
Asake’s response has since ignited a whirlwind of mixed reactions, with fans and social media users divided over the unfolding drama.
