Everton has joined four other English Premier League clubs, namely, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea for the signature of Nigeria’s dare-devil striker, Victor Osimhen.
Istnewsonline.com gathered that some unnamed Bundesliga clubs are also on the trail of the Lille frontman.
Napoli were thought to be in pole position to sign the best African player in the Ligue 1, who ended with 18 goals in all competitions last season, but Osimhen changed his mind saying he’s holding out for a move to the English Premier League.
Osimhen’s manager, Osita Okolo, had earlier told reporters that the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea were the clubs exploring ways to sign the Lille star performer.
Though the 21-year-old is under contract with Lille until the end of the 2023-2024 season, Lille have stated that he is set for the exit door in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Leicester City are interested in signing for Real Madrid striker, Luka Jovic, which may put pressure on Kelechi Iheanacho’s chances of regular play for the club.
Iheanacho, despite having limited playing opportunities, the former Manchester City star has found the net ten times from his 1,180 minutes – across 23 matches, 14 of which he started.
If the Serbian’s move to the King Power Stadium materialises, manager Brendan Rodgers has plans to line Jovic up to partner Jamie Vardy in attack next season.
Jovic has had a poor start this season with Real Madrid, scoring two goals in 25 appearances in all competitions, and the Spanish giants are willing to listen to offers for the 22-year-old.
With the Foxes on the verge of returning to Europe, Brendan Rodgers is in the market for a striker to ease the goal-scoring burden on Vardy.
