Ex-Bayelsa Assembly deputy chief whip thanks Diri, Ewhrudjakpo, Dickson for support

The immediate past Deputy Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon Munaleyafa Edwin Gibson, has expressed appreciation to Almighty God for using Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Sen Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as partners in his political journey so far.

Hon Gibson said he felt highly privileged to have benefited from the immense love, care and deep concern for his well-being shown by both Governor Diri and his deputy.

The former deputy chief whip stated this in a statement in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Gibson described both Diri and Ewhrudjakpo as outstanding leaders, stressing that posterity would remember them positively.

The former lawmaker also expressed appreciation to the former governor of the state and incumbent Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson as well as other stakeholders, his PDP team, supporters, friends and family members for their immense support and sacrifices.

He added that they solidly stood behind him through thick and thin, making his political journey worthwhile.

Hon Gibson said as a man of faith, he strongly believed in the Bible’s admonition to thank God in whatever situation one finds himself, stressing that politics is like every other human endeavour where one falls, rises, makes mistakes and learns.

The former deputy chief whip, however, maintained that one must keep trying by putting one foot in front of the other, even when it’s hard to do so.

Hon Gibson further noted that his spirit remained unshaken, urging his supporters to be cheerful in order to keep attracting God’s blessings.
