Ex-Husband Of Jill Biden Charged With Murder Of Wife In Delaware

The ex-husband of former United States First Lady, Jill Biden, William Stevenson, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Linda Stevenson, at their home in Delaware.

Stevenson, 77, who was married to Jill Biden between 1970 and 1975, was taken into custody on Monday by New Castle County Police and arraigned on a first-degree murder charge over the December 28 death of his 64-year-old wife.

Police said officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at the couple’s residence in Wilmington shortly after 11 p.m. on December 28, where Linda Stevenson was found unresponsive in the living room. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said Stevenson was remanded in custody after failing to post a $500,000 cash bail.

Police have yet to disclose the cause of Linda Stevenson’s death or provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the incident, noting that investigations are ongoing.

Linda Stevenson was described in her obituary as a devoted family woman who cherished time spent with her daughter and granddaughter, particularly during family vacations. She was also a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and recently operated a bookkeeping business.

She was remembered as tenacious, kind-hearted and fiercely loyal, with the obituary noting that her strength, resilience and unwavering love for family and friends would be deeply missed.
